More than what’s available at the Food and Fun Center. Not wanting to leave the hotelĭue to the weather, we decided to have dinner there. Recently found ourselves in Disney's Contemporary Resort onĪ very rainy Friday evening. Service was better, but food not that great and the place was extra loud. We came back for another birthday celebration Dec 17,2022.
I was very disappointed about everything! Also they gave us a table right next to an entrance door and people were going in and out everytime and we were freezing. The bathroom was not taken care of (The boxes of gaskets were dropped right on top of the back toilet seat) The dish I ordered was okay but not to my standards because I have gotten the same a lot better somewhere else. I don't think I would like to come back to this place. The servers didn't even care much, they said sorry but not too worried. By the time we got our food it was already cold and even someone in our table asked for the food to be reheated. that they were making mistakes getting confused about what we ordered with other tables- they had our food sitting there for a while before they brought it to our table. I wasn't feeling very comfortable because the place was kind of crowded and we were not expecting that and on top of everything else, they were not able to serve our food at the same time and they were coming with our dishes one by one and some of us had to start eating before the others at our table, -but the worst part of it! was. When we arrived they were kind and because we had a reservation they took us to our table immediately however they made us wait for our food since 5:30 to around 7:00 P.M.+(UNBELIEVABLE!) the couple who invited us were extremely patient, but me myself would've left along with my husband however, since we were invited we had to just try to enjoy their company (thank God we were not in a hurry!). We were invited to celebrate a birthday and since it's a steak house and maybe a little pricey we were expecting a very good service and good food as well. Serving the food with zero place settings or condiments also tells a story.
DISCOVERY BAY STEAKHOUSE PLUS
When it takes 30 plus minutes to get the first drink to the table, there is a problem. The restaurant is over committed with reservations which cannot be handled in a timely manner with current staffing. The food is still good but a menu change is long overdue. That was a while ago.forward to May 2022, a change of ownership, new and inexperienced staff (which seems to plague every restaurant in the area.) Three very recent visits and one where we left because we couldn't get any service even with a reservation. Wine was reasonably priced and overall a good experience. Food was very good but it was a little noisy with so many in the room. We subsequently decided on having dinner in the main room and were not disappointed. This event was well handled with never an empty plate. We first attended a private reception in a back room where goes d'oeuvres were plentiful and tasty plus having an open wine bar.
This place must be doing something right because it was packed on this visit and always appears busy when I drive by.
